Driving Jobs
Truck driving is a booming business in a struggling economy. Are you tired of dead end jobs with no hope for the future. There are literally hundreds of companies hiring drivers of all experience levels. Whenever you go to a store to buy something, that item had to be delivered by someone driving a truck. Having a CDL, commercial drivers license, guarantees you a high paying job.....even with the economy down. And truck drivers with CDL's are paid higher than ever before.
I know what you are thinking. I don't have a CDL license. Well, there are two options. The first is to get with a company that is willing to put you through commercial driving training to get your license. This option usually requires a lower pay and a contract of sorts for them to hire you. The second option is to pay for yourself to go through trucking school, or driving school to get your license and then you have more negotiating power when you are done to be able to get a higher paying job with better benefits. These schools also have programs for job placement when you are finished.
Now lets talk about the options and benefits you will have with your CDL. There are open road drivers that travel across the country. These are great options for people who want to see the country and like to travel. This lifestyle is not for everyone. Some people like waking up in a different city every day, meeting new people and seeing things they never would have seen before. But the pay and benefits can be very rewarding.
There are also regional drivers who usually have 3-4 days of work followed by 3-4 days off. This is a great opportunity for people who like time off. They drive to cities within a couple hundred miles of their home, and usually have a set route that they do.
Another option is a local driver. These usually work 9-5 schedules and have weekends off. Or if you are more of a people person, you could opt for a CDL with passenger endorsement and drive a bus. The pay is usually higher and there are a lot of city and county jobs which gives you the added benefit of working for the government.
Whatever option you choose, starting a career in trucking or driving is a recession proof way to maintain job stability. And having a CDL is the start of it all.
